Frequently asked questions
Common questions about our service, pricing, and process.
Why did my driveway crack? It is not even that old.
In Alabama it is almost never the concrete itself. Our red clay is expansive — it swells when it gets saturated and shrinks in a dry spell, and washout under the edge of a slab does the rest. A slab poured straight on loose clay follows the ground and cracks. We fix that at the base: grade, compact stone, reinforce, and cut joints so the concrete cracks where we tell it to.
Do you charge to come look at the job?
No. The on-site inspection is free and so is the written quote. We will tell you straight whether you need a full replacement or a smaller repair — even when the answer is 'not yet.' No pressure, no obligation.
How long before I can use my new driveway or patio?
You can walk on it after about 24 hours and park a car on a driveway after roughly 7 days. Concrete keeps gaining strength for about 28 days, so keep heavy trucks and trailers off it until then. We give you the exact timeline for your pour when we finish.
Is summer a bad time to pour concrete here?
Summer heat makes concrete set fast and finish weak if you fight it, so in the hot months we schedule early-morning deliveries and cure the slab properly. Spring and fall are the easiest seasons, but with the right timing we pour year-round.
