Slabs, Foundations & Garage Floors

A slab is the one part of a building you can never fix cheaply later, so it is the part we are most careful with. We pour monolithic slabs and footings for garages, workshops, barns, sheds, carports, and home additions, plus replacement garage floors where the old slab has heaved or crumbled. Every slab gets a compacted base, vapor barrier where it is called for, and reinforcement placed where it actually does its job.

Before we pour we walk the site with you, check drainage, and talk through what is going on top of the slab — a lawn mower shed and a two-post lift need very different concrete. We form to the dimensions on your plans or your builder's, set the thickened edges and footings, and pour in one continuous placement so there are no cold joints. In summer we schedule early-morning deliveries because concrete placed in Alabama heat sets fast and finishes weak if you fight it. You get the thickness, reinforcement, and mix strength in writing on the quote.

Slab and foundation work covers site layout, excavation and grading, stone base and compaction, vapor barrier, forms, rebar or wire mesh, thickened edges and footings, the pour and finish, control joints, and curing. Garage-floor replacements include demo and haul-off of the old floor.
